Tight.
Ah, how I love the sociopaths who have not been satisfied of fucking up the Middle-East.

Do not use the term "Goat Fucker" to refer to Arabs/Muslims
In general we are all a bit sadistic, to be fair.
These people just want to see their own soldiers get maimed and killed in insurgency attacks while having their own citizens' life expectancy fall even lower because all the money goes to a military that can't even win against goat-fuckers armed with Mosin Nagant rifles. They're just idiots.

Rufus, thats not vey fair. In a convential wr the goat fuckers stood zero chance. And they were crushed. Its just the U.S is trying to pacify the middle east without long term full scale occupation which doesnt work. They are destorying without rebuilding. And as soon as they look away the terroists ramp up again. So its not a matter of U.S army cant beat terroists, its just that the U.S is trying to stomp out terroism with methods that make things worse. And they will continue to get worse until we learn this quote by V " ideas are bulletproof."

So the huge military lost its war against the goat-fuckers.

Thing is as I see it so I don't say this with fact or certainty here as others would. When the US helped with others to rebuild Japan and Germany it was a long term occupation against peoples who had been beaten into the ground for the most part. They were defeated soundly. Resistance largely crushed. But a plan was generally followed through with rebuilding their governments. Getting them back to being functioning states. Plus it was long term. I realize troop deployments wound down but there remained a significant amount there as aid and a reminder if not also a stick.

Adding onto that. Both of those nations and WW2 as well had these nations viewing themselves as nations. As a people. As a state that they were a part of.

The Middle East. Afghanistan in particular seems far more divided, far more divisive that seem to want to remain how they are or not to change. The family, the clan, the village then everything else. There's far less of a national identity there for them to get behind and identify with to me at least. There's institutional problems galore. A woman or boy raped, it goes unreported and then they're killed or they disappear. Fights between families or villages. Too much control by their village elders or religious leaders. Too much corruption in the system. Where even soldiers get raped by the commanding officers.

The only ways it could be properly fixed I would think is a long term occupation that basically shoves everything down their throat. People on hand to offer aid, double check everything and basically train or educate them into the new systems or so that it becomes the norm. The other is using a heavy hand that constitutes warcrimes and is morally wrong and should not be condoned. Or alternatively setup what you can. Give encouragement and aid where applicable but be far more hands off and instead give economic insensitives or aid when asked or you see fit from afar. A series of slow nudges more than any direct management.

tfw you get america to declare you president and then you say america gets to shoot everyone who disagrees with your presidency

Socialism is a failure, news at 11. All the strongest nations are capitalist ones like Singapore or America.
Singapore also provides massive benefits to its citizens that most Americans would consider socialist. Including roughly $166,000 in benefits per baby born to a citizen, free or subsidized medical care, free computers for students, literally paying people to go to the gym so the population stays healthy, and in general a massive welfare state.

Cronyism and a culture of corruption don't care about your ideologies.

It is easy to shit on socialism or communism or any other -ism but if your country/nation/whatever is not mature enough for such then you are shit out of luck.

Just look at all the fascist and semifascist regimes that toot their capitalism horn and are more or less cronyism ridden torture holes.

So, enlighten us about a successful Rural Utopia that socialists seek to pine for.
Ummm... why add "rural"? A utopia wouldn't be either entirely rural or entirely urban. That's sort of the point of a utopia, it makes everyone happy.

Arkansas? Rural, utopia (for the right people) and lives through the taxes of other people.

Skyzeta referred to the socialism of the developing world as "rural utopianism" whereby everything was hunky dory until the devil of industrialisation destroyed the harmony and the peasant was forever denied his rightful land. Essentially it is a left-wing version of anti-intellectualism whereby the peasant is the true heart and soul of the world. The ultimate problem is that with climate change really about to start firing up, it's going to be even less viable.

A twisted mirror of that, more like. AFAICT even among CHUDs, there are very few who are inclined to think "Industrial revolution was a mistake."
Pretty sure rhe general consensus regarding the industrial revolution is "we could have handled some of that better"

Today I learnt that "Socialism" is an utterly homogeneous ideology and "Socialists" apparently agree on everything in regards to policy. Actually scratch that, leftists apparently all agree with each other apparently...
