The Grand Adventure(s?) (OPEN) (OOC)

The Drunken Adventurer.

A fitting name for a tavern located in the more seedy parts of Katherinsand. It is a place where aspiring adventurers sit down, have a good drink, and perhaps argue over who accomplishes more over who. It is a place of brotherhood, cameraderie, and most importantly, a place where you can find people who will take you on quests and adventures.

And this is where you come in.

Your origins may be on your own, but you do arrive in The Drunken Adventurer anticipating for some form of adventure, your reasons could be many, perhaps it is to prove to another person or to yourself that you can make it as an adventurer, perhaps it is trying to break familial ties with a family too stuck in their ways that you can't adapt to that, perhaps you are seeking refuge from people searching after you, whatever your reason is, you arrive in this tavern, and through the smell of mead and the loud noises all around, you are here for adventure.

So, choose your adventurer, and may your journeys be fruitful and safe.

This is an original setting RP, this RP will also be primarily player driven, so don't expect me to handhold everything.

Rules are simple.
1. Don't be bigots
2. Be respectful of each other
3. Have fun!

I will post lore for the setting in case anyone's interested in joining the RP further.

Map! (1st Edition)

Firstly, a map of the setting itself. You will all start at the Capital City of Katherinsand, the City on the Hill and by far largest city in the world. Katherinsand is a prosperous and gigantic city, nestled on the interchange of multiple rivers. The Capital of the Central Empire is most definitely the place to go to when you are beginning your adventures.

Oh kay, this is my first, so be gentle. ☺

I am Jeffrey Armand, a hopeful adventurer hailing from the docks of Cote Bleu. Right now I'm newly arrived at Katherinsand looking to change my luck and re-invent my self with adventuring.

Like I said, now I am sitting at a table in The Drunken Adventurer nursing my drink, trying not to act like a yokel and looking around me for fellow adventurers to join in a party.

Alright, so firstly, some lore.
The world is dark, lava, fire and ash billowing out of the ground, and humanity has been at war for much of it's existance. Their eternal, unholy, evil enemy, Demons, come in many forms. Some dress in dark armor and brandish vicious swords, and use their savagery and brutality to wage war, ramming down castle walls with the sheer numbers of their horde. Some lie in the dark and the night, And appear as one's worst nightmares, terrifying creature that are fear of the unnatural incarnate. Others tempt and corrupt, whispering in the minds of men in an attempt to lead to sin, and to darken their hearts and souls. Whatever form the archenemy comes in, There are humans who will always take arms againsit the demonic threat, relying on their strength, their will, fury, and above all, their faith in God, for the lord rewards those who act and speak in his holy name. Faith, for some who are in the most perilous places, like border villages or the front lines of the war, is all that motivates them to go on, and to not give into fear, madness, despair, and sin. Faith is the bond that brings men together in this world and resist againist their foe, for the belief that God is on your side is all man needs to fight on.

Among the Central Empire's greatest forces, are those who are born with angelic blood within them, and these blessed men and woman usually make up the ranks of three elite organizations.

The demon hunters, who progenitor is Zakanus, the Archangel of the Hunt, who taught the first men to spot demons and track them, and these hunters are blessed with superhuman physique's espiacally their speed and agility. Their senses are highly acute, they can hear a heart beating and smell blood. Some are known to be somewhat feral, as the more powerful a hunter grows, their bodies grow more predatory. Their teeth become sharp, their eyes slited like a beasts, and can go into a wild state when fighting demons. They are charged with hunting and disposing of demons, and are the first to invesetigate demonic attacks on towns and villages. They typically use knife-swords and wear clawed gaunlets that let them easily dig into and climb up walls or trees.

The Inquisitors, borne of the archangel Xeran the Judge, who showed men how to root out heresy and sin. For the only threat who can match demons is the heretic. Those who consort with the demon are tratiors to all, and they sully god's name with their sinful acts. Stoic, but observant and shrewd people, they serve as the artiber to heretical matters, and pass judgement on the accused. Their angel blood bless them with abilites such as Soul seering and heightened intellects, as well as being naturals at holy magic. They will deliver god's wrath in a mighty, but fair hand

The Knight-Templars, offspring of the archangel Geru the Paladin, They are the mightiest warriors in man's armies, instilled with immesnive physical power and towering size, as well as being unmatched warriors and generals as well as impeccable charisma, They are both the Unstoppable sword and the invinceable shield. They are known to live by strict honor codes, and generally despise deceit and dishonesty, though some are known to be arrogant and haughty. Clad in blessed heavy armor and wielding holy weapons, their duty is to turn the tide of all battles.

One ability that all Angel-blooded share Is the power to use their soul in combat. For their souls rages and refuses to give in to the darkness, and this soul power can take many forms. From ethereal armor and weapons, to full on transformation into a full angelic form, soul power is in awe inspring sight.

Côte Bleu

This city is THE trading hub for the south. It is a gigantic port city boasting a population around 150.000-250.000 depending on the times, Côte Bleu used to be just a small fishing village back when times, but, the discovery of the eastern nations and subsequent trade with them meant that Côte Bleu exploded in size as a result. It is the only port of access the Central Empire has to the Eastern Nations'. The only other way is to cross the desert of wastes in the central region, and that is a big no no considering the beasts that roam those parts, as well as the heat and general unhospitality of the desert.

The city is divided into 4 parts, the central, east, west city, and finally, the port. The central city hosts both the cathedral and the Côte Bleu castle, the eastern parts are the markets and commercial part of the city, the docks is where most of the industry is located, and the west are the residential areas. Relatively speaking, it is a pretty clean city, with streets that are regularly sweeped, and the quality of live in Côte Bleu is very high compared to the rest of the empire. Still, this city isn't perfect, and due to the massive port in the city, organized crime is rife as well. Thugs occasionally steal shipments while a ship is being docked, and the city at night is not safe for anyone not with a constable.

The Capital, Katherinsand.

Better known as the 'city on the hill'. Katherinsand is the capital city of the central empire. Or Karlsland as the other nations call it. It is a gigantic city built on a river ending up in an eastern port city. Katherinesand is a city of hope and dreams, yet, at the same time, crushing poverty and corruption.

Many people make it here in Katherinsand, Merchants travel here to make a quick buck on the many, many markets on the city, farmers travel here to sell their wares, and gullible young people travel here for adventure and to make a good living. Many of them succeed, many of them fail, and all of them slowly make up the background noise of this bustling city in the central empire.

The corruption of this city is varied, in a good day, if you are a small merchant making ends meet, you can meet a civil servant with the right disposition and finish your business of complying to the laws and regulations in a day, on a bad day... well, perhaps emptying some portion of your pocket money is needed to grease the wheels of the bureaucracy, there exists an inquisition to deal with these issues, but they are overstretched and their agents few and far in between, the inquisition of corruption is some of the most underfunded agencies within the empire, and for predictable reasons at that.

Perhaps the most important site within this city though, is the church of the supreme god.

This is the site where the Demon-Hunters, Inquisitors, and Knight-Templars reside, but usually, seeing a Knight-Templar, Inquisitor, and Demon-Hunter is a rare sight, except for the Inquisitors of corruption, who always roam these halls busy tackling the corrupt civil servants and officials of the city. People usually flock to the church of the supreme god to pray, give alms, and improve their piety to god after a tiring week of work. Such is the life of most people within this city.

Another site of note in this city is the castle of the empress.

The site is actually located a bit far off from the city, but it still counts as within city limits, this is the place where the empress of the central empire resides, and holds court. The palace itself is located near a cliff, one of the many cliffs overlooking the fertile valley where farmers till their fields below.

The empress herself is a relatively old woman. Although she would frown if you told her that. She is holding steady of her empire. Constantly having to overturn conspiracies to overthrow her throne and whatnot.

A woman hailing from the jungles west of the empire, she is the matriarch of house Ngkongwe, a relatively obscure noble house until, when the Emperor August II appointed her as the new successor to the throne. Obviously, her status was immediately challenged, with her skin colour and her gender not helping at all. But, the current empress is the current empress for a reason, she is a shrewd political operator, able to see fault lines in the political world like no man or woman is ever capable of seeing, and exploiting it to such an extent that it made house Ngkongwe very much feared within the Empire. A woman of calm disposition when you meet her, she is usually called the 'silent devil' by her political adversaries just because of her silent disposition alone.

She also uses anti aging magic to maintain her youthful form, despite entering her mid to late 40s. What kinds of spell she utilizes is a secret of the empire of course. Kept under lock and key and protected by her royal guards.

Oh kay, this is my first, so be gentle. ☺

Occupation:
  • Freelancer
  • Battlemage
Weapons:
  • A mage swordstaff
  • A scimitar
  • A dagger
Equipment
  • Deylavaz-pattern Battlemage armor
  • A Bag of Holding
  • A pair of Focus Rings on each finger from both his hands, allowing him to fire arcane bolts from his hands with decent accuracy and intensity. Nevertheless, it is recommended by mages to fire bolts of magical energy using staffs and swordwands.
Personality:
  • Cordial, often makes sarcastic remarks and sometimes gets into conflict with people possessing "unfavorable traits of character".
  • Often laid-back whenever he's not on an assignment or duty; however, he will act and perform as professional as he can be on the field.
Backstory:

Khosrow was born to a family of merchants in the city-state of Deylavaz, demonstrating latent magical abilities from an early age where he soon studied at the Royal Deylavaz Academy. After graduated at the age of 17 as a mage, Khosrow later joined the Deylavan Army and trained as a battlemage. At the age of 21, he was selected to be a part of an armed escort to safeguard a trade caravan leading to the Yuishi Northern Battlements. After arriving at the location, a scuffle broke out between Khosrow and the Centralian soldiers escorting an emissary from Côte Bleu. Angered at being defeated in a fight, a few Centralian soldiers and a mage followed Khosrow to a tavern at night and planned on murdering him there.

He managed to avoid the murder attempt at the last second and killed the Centralians in respond, which immediately caused a diplomatic incident between the two realms. Khosrow was discharged from the army a month later after he and the trade caravan had returned to Deylavaz. Since after his removal, Khowrow became a freelancer mercenary, worked many high paying jobs for five years in the Great Desert and Yuishi to support himself, until he was paid by a hooded woman to escort her to Katherinsand, the capital of the Central Empire.

Name: Ringfinger Leonhard

Race: Human

Gender: Male

Picture:
tumblr_ovb58qEJ3J1tx2hp8o1_1280.png

Country of Origin: Central Empire, Katherinsand --> Farmhaven

Occupation:
  • Mercenary
Powers and Abilities:

  • Superhuman Agility: Leonhard could be seen jumping and cartwheeling through the air several times to deal attacks both while spinning and when he lands. The curved swords of his allows him to exploit this tactic.
  • Equipment:
    • Armor: The set provides good all-around physical defenses. It has very good Magic and Fire resistance, and is quite resistant to Frost.
    • Eastern Iron Shield: Heaviest of the small shields, it is impressively weighty and thus able to deflect attacks with ease.
    • Sorcerer's Staff: (1) Casts about five magical orbs that homes in on an enemy. They will stay with the user until an enemy comes into range, whereupon they activate and launch themselves at foes. They can stay cast even while doing actions like running or blocking. (2) Additionally, it can morph into a soul great-sword about two times his own height that deals physical damage and Magical damage as a side effect. (3) It can fire a a large Farron Soul Dart, which basically deals magical damage. (4) Lastly, it can fire a hail of these same Soul Darts (although smaller) in a cascade, so that multiple darts fly at the victim with a shot-gun like effect.
    • Crescent Moon Sword: One handed sword used for quick physical slashing attacks that can also deal magic as a side-effect. It can also fire projectile-like magical crescent blades that act as slashing attacks and does magical damage as well.
    • 3XEstus Flasks: When consumed, it heals most of the damage that Leonhard has sustained. However, extremely heavy damage might require the consumption of more than one.
    • Duel Charm: Prevents sorcerer's from using magic, spells, or buffs within a 10 meter radius for about 25 seconds. It first nullifies the abilities, and then prevents re-casting for about 25 seconds.
    • Obscuring Ring: Wearing this ring will mask the user's presence, making them invisible from 10 meters away and beyond. Any closer, and the user will still be able to be seen.
    • Red Eye Orb: Allows him to "invade" and teleport to other areas as a Dark Spirit. When killed, only the Dark Spirit projection stays dead, while leaving his physical self alive still - 1 use per week.
Personality:

Leonhard is usually a quiet individual that keeps mostly to himself. The way he speaks is rather pleasant and he treats everyone with the same friendly mannerism. However, his biggest flaw is that in combat, he's unnecessarily savage. Killing has become almost second-nature to him, but he's not "evil" or "malicious", but rather just astray and unaware of the brutality of his actions. This contradicting dynamic can often become extremely confusing as he may be talking politely with you for a short period of time, before diving in the battlefield with such deadliness and brutality.

Backstory:

Leonhard was raised as a knight templar, honed to be a weapon that would forever drive back the hordes of demons. He's a rare case, having also been trained as a mage, giving him both a magical and physical edge. Despite his usefulness as a knight-mage hybrid, during an intense battle, he suffered extreme burns, scarring his face and parts of his body. Because of his wounds, Leonhard was discharged from the knights-templar, although he had no hard feelings about it. He retired to Farmhaven to live a quiet life away from everyone else, but soon realized that with the demonic threat, there is no such thing as a quiet life. Instead, he offered his services to the Central Empire as a mercenary or vigilante, volunteering to fight the demons, just not under the official army of the Central Empire. This gives him a lot of free reign and the Empire would hardly say no, given they'd be happy with another skilled user on their side.

More lore!
The Empress, Empress Fisayo Ngkongwe.

Her normal attire when she holds her court, sword and shield excluded unless she really needed to put a noble in his/ her place.

Casual attire during her downtime, she prefers the sweater and for good reason.

Born in Hinojam (literally means jungle city). Fisayo Ngkongwe was the daughter of Aina Ngkongwe and Bolade Ngkongwe. As a child, Fisayo often busies herself with reading books and studying ancient central empire literature, much to the chagrin of her father and to the joy of her mother. She learned about Central Empire philosophy, mathematics, science and literature from an early age. and mastered most of those skills by the time she was around 13 to 14 years old. She was too focused on her studies when she was invited by her father to go to the capital city. The maids of the Ngkongwe palace says that she only nodded because she was busy reading a book on magic, and wasn't aware that she is going to the capital when her mother suddenly burst in and packed up her belongings. She was only 16 at that time.

At the capital, Fisayo spent her time roaming the halls of the Emperor's castle while her father is busy conducting business with the Emperor. During this time, she spent days upon days busy reading the books of the royal library when she suddenly stumbled along with the emperor, oblivious of who he is at the start, she spent the rest of her days during the trip talking, arguing, and studying along with him. Emperor August II was said to be mighty impressed by the intelligence and dedication this woman from the western jungles had towards learning. It is also rumoured that this is the time when the Emperor, long known to have no children, decided that this woman will inherit the throne.

Years passed, and slowly, Fisayo adjusted to her role as the son of a noble house. She handled more and more of the duties as her parents slowly age. But, a sudden change in her life happened when a letter arrived in her office, informing her of the Emperor's intent to meet with her personally, that day, when Fisayo was only 25, changed her life forever.

She met with the emperor in Katherinsand, and after dinner, a walk in the royal gardens and having fun with him (she's grown more and more cordial with the emperor, much to the jealousy of the other nobles). The emperor announced his intent to crown her as the empress of the Central Empire. Fisayo was shocked, and initially wholly rejected the offer. She belongs more in her lands Fisayo reasoned, she was aware of the jealous stares she received from the other nobles from the central lands, and she felt better off ruling her people within the jungles.

But, after months of back and forth arguments, and compromises and pep-talks, mostly with the emperor just trying to convince Fisayo about how her intelligence will be beneficial for the empire, and how she will be setting a precedent for her people, with being the first western woman to be crowned empress. Fisayo relented and accepted the throne. It was at this point that the woman learned about swordfighting and focused more on her martial arts, and the day she was crowned empress was only 4 years later, when August II inexplicably died from a sudden stroke.

She wields a sword made from pure magical crystal, a weapon she made herself, the sword is capable of slicing through almost any object with ease. Not to mention being light as well. It's transparent nature is also very unique, and one of a kind, earning her some amount of grandeur and mystique within the court whenever she has her sword on hand. Her shield though, is a family heirloom.

Named the shield of the golden bull. It is a shield made by the master craftsmen of the Ngkongwe household thousands of years ago, constantly repaired and upgraded, the shield is a legendary weapon that, if the rumours are true, can withstand even the strongest demon strikes and even hellfire from dragons. It took many, many years for Fisayo to master wielding these two weapons, and many more years lie ahead of her still, but she is slowly gaining proficiency in fighting with her sword and shield.

A mother of two children, with her eldest daughter in line for the throne (Fisayo changed the succession laws of the empire to be more gender neutral). Fisayo is often regarded by the lower and middle classes as a firm, but fair empress, she seems cold from a distance, usually issuing decrees out of the blue, and seemingly with no regard to the situations on the ground, but it almost always end up to the benefit of the peasants and the citizenry, the nobles allied to her usually attribute that to her intellect, to how she is able to read the information told to her by her advisors and her agents on the ground and take into account that information into her royal decrees. But, the person who truly knows about that is the empress herself, and she has kept a quiet mouth on the matter. Much to the frustration of the nobles and peasantry alike.

Fisayo Ngkongwe, intellectual achievements.

The empress is... unique in terms of her intelligence. She is the first person to innovate the usage of charged fireball spells. Before Fisayo's invention, mages usually cast big, bright balls of fire into the enemy, it is an effective spell, but a mage has to use a lot of mana in order to finally take down a giant demon via a fireball spell, Fisayo's charged fireball spells though, circumvents that whole issue by focusing the fireball into a small enough space, that, when it hits the giant demon. It explodes with such fire and fury that it brings down the giant demon in one shot. Theoretically anyway.

She also pioneered the modern formatting of the current research paper for the empire. The so-called 'Fisayo Standard' for academic writing is now being taught empire wide for research papers ranging from societal research, magical research, or the natural researches.

But, Fisayo Ngkongwe is most famous for her political achievements. Despite her contributions to the field of scholarship and magical combat.

Fisayo Ngkongwe, Political achivements.

Emperor August II, when he died, wrote in his will about Fisayo being granted the throne of the central empire. The various nobles from the central lands were very confused by the decision of the emperor to grant a woman, a woman from the far west at that, the throne of the empire. Sure, empresses were a thing in the empire's history, but the order of the day was always the men gaining the throne instead of women. This is the natural order of things after all. The archangels are, after all, male. So it would make sense for men to ascend into the throne for the empire. The reasoning the emperor gave though, is very much precedent setting. And would very much carry after Fisayo's death.

The emperor reasoned that, through his personal encounters with Fisayo. He recognized her intellectual prowess and her ability to ascertain the nuances of academic writing at her late teenage years. He also further said that Fisayo's intellectual prowess only grew after that, she had been mulling on her charged fireball spell for quite a while, and it was only with the emperor's help and her usage of the royal libraries that the spell itself was created. Furthermore, in a bombshell revelation that struck the various nobles that read his will regarding Fisayo. A lot of his political decisions on the later years of his life, especially the ones verging on his death. Are almost all consulted through Fisayo.

It should be noted that those last few years were groundbreaking for the empire. Various reforms into the army command structure, making it more meritocratic than the nobles liked, the building of new ports in Côte Bleu, facilitating the city's growth and continued prosperity, and the expansion of the imperial roadways to cover the far flung regions of the north, lest the demons ever return. That there would be an easy way for Imperial troops to enter the theatre of battle faster. These were all made with Fisayo Ngkongwe's consultation. August II also reasoned that the various branches of the demon-hunters, knight-templars, and inquisitors were already accepting women into some combat ranks, so if this is the will of god to bless these men and women of the three orders with the powers to combat the great evil, it makes sense for Fisayo to be granted the throne, he reasoned that her credentials is more than enough for the throne to belong to her.

Of course, most nobled resisted her when she ascended the throne, her picture of ascendance painted in immaculate detail. Even up to the disapproving glances of the nobles present, but, as history would determine it, she stabilized the throne, and ushered a continuation of an age of prosperity left by August II.

Some of her achivements include, the expansion of the Inquisitor order to some degree, reforming the ascension laws of the empire, making it far more gender neutral, the continued maintenance and expansion of the Imperial roadways, with the addition of standardized stop stations throughout, so that weary travelers can rest in an area where civilization is sparse, and the construction of a new castle just outside the city where she can hold court. Not to mention the more... subtle reforms she has enacted, the ones that ruffled the feathers of the nobles include land reform edicts that enabled further legal protection for the peasants working the land, and a reformation of the Imperial legal system to make it fairer for everyone.

And she is still in her 40s by the time all those reforms have been enacted. Naturally, the order of the shadows, a sort of spy agency that reports directly to the empress, was expanded as well, mostly as a way for her to hear about conspiracies and nip them in the bud, there have been whispers around the noble circle about the Empress' gaining more and more power, even some faded whispers about a tyranny as a result.

You won't be seeing a unified, professional Grande Armée as appropriate for the Napoleonic age, I'm afraid. It sounds like the Empire is tailored first and foremost at fighting a demonic threat that can strike anywhere and anytime. You'd see very strong town guards acting as the primary component of the Imperial forces, and depending on the political structure these may be local volunteer forces or basically feudal levies. Instead of organising on the Corp level like a sensible force, the army instead organises on the Province/State level and primarily works entirely locally unless neighbouring regions request support. This does not speak either way on if the components of the state have significant autonomy, only that if you plan to potentially have to fight on multiple fronts and inside your borders with minimal warning a conventional fighting structure may provide sub-optimal results.

The fact this doctrine also allows for significant local impact by hypothetical RP PCs or story characters is of course no coincidence.

Also note that while this doctrine is arguably backwards in many ways, it still leaves room for the bulk of the soldiery being professionally trained troops. Naturally, equipment and training quality would vary quite heavily from town to town, although I'm certain there'd be a bit of subsidisation going on. I don't think the Empire is meant to be Imperium-level dysfunctional, after all.

The Army and Orders of the Church Militant are entirely separate chains of command and likely often butt heads. Because not completely dysfunctional also doesn't mean perfectly functional.

This army doctrine is specifically meant to deter local threats from heretics should another incursion from the Demonic realms occur, BUT, this doctrine does have some massive flaws, and that is the massive requirement for logistics for the troops deployed throughout the cities and villages throughout the empire. This is why Fisayo expanded the road networks of the empire massively, it is meant to ensure the steady supply of food, weapons and armour to be delivered regularly into the many, many fronts the empire has to endure should another demonic incursion happens.

Although, Empiress Fisayo does have several additions to the current army doctrine of the empire, and that is the slow construction of a Royal Expeditionary Force, or REF as a shorthand, the REF is a large corps of knights, soldiers, mages and artillerymen, all professionally trained and kept on active duty throughout their careers, and are to be deployed immediately into towns, villages, and areas where the demonic incursion is particularly bad immediately. Generally, they are very well trained soldiers wearing the latest in armour and weapons. Numbering around 300.000 troops, and all of them stationed in either Katherinsand and Côte Bleu (consequently these two cities are some of the largest within the empire), the sight of these soldiers are imposing to say the least, all of them just as if not even more well equipped and trained just as the most prestigious noble houses of the land, the creation of the REF also spurs whispers about the Empress being a tyrant by the local nobles as well.

Some drawings of the knights, soldiers, mages and artillerymen of this Royal Expeditionary Force. Part 1.

Female Knights make up the surprising bulk of the Knight Force, for some reason, most women living within the central region of the empire volunteered to become part of the REF, and, considering their noble stature, most of them became knights as a result, do not underestimate these knights though, they are female, for sure. But they are thoroughly trained and weeded out to become some of the best knights the Empire ever had. Multiple accounts of Noble House Knights dueling these Imperial Knights are a testament to that.

Some theories as to why these knights joined include: a sense of adventure, lack of careers for noblewomen in the central region, and even the need for adventure that most women living in the central region does not have.

The regular soldiers of the empire, generally less trained than the knights, but they have a different purpose. While a knight is meant to be the tip of the spear of an assault, usually the first of the troops to be deployed into battle, engaging the demons of a village or whatever, the regular soldiers are meant to be supplement the knights, a sort of supporting force in the event that the knights are being overwhelmed by the hordes of demons pouring in. Usually armed with pikes, but they are also issued swords should the battle get too close, these troops rely heavily on the shock factor of their pikes charging into the enemy, as well as their tight formations presenting a strong front for the enemy. Giving the knights reprieve during a battle.

Some of the more experienced soldiers within the regular infantry can further become rangers, supporting both the regular troops and knights in battle Imperial Rangers are trained in harassment, guerrilla warfare, and supporting soldiers with their bow during pitched battles, only armed with a bow and knives, they are not supposed to engage the enemy in melee. Expect to see them in the forests or out of the thick of the battle, firing their bows and raining down death to their enemies.

Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, light cavalry is not available for the REF at the moment, usually composed of knights wanting to further train their skills to become a cavalryman, the Imperial Cavalry's job is to act as 'shock troops', flanking the enemy around and surprising them with a charge on their flanks, from that point on, their armour, lances, and sheer speed of their horses will do the rest of the work. In battle, expect cycle charges done by these men and women in horses.

Might as well add in my own chracter at this point.

Name: Orisa Ngkazikiwe (just call her Orisa)

Race: Human

Gender: Female

Picture:
Tiona_SSR_02.jpg

Country of Origin: Isijam, Central Empire.

Occupation: New Adventurer.

Weapons: Double Bladed Sword, Hands and Feet

Personality:
- Very Bubbly, always open to conversation. Orisa is a very high energy woman, constantly smiling and talks a lot in conversation. People from the west are known to be very friendly and less concerned with personal space, and Orisa is very much a representation of that trait to a T. Her penchance for 'touching' (I.E: Hugging, ruffling hairs, and patting on the back) can be very off-putting for the people in Katherinsand, who are more used with their notions of personal space.
- High energy. Orisa also somehow has the energy to spare for doing lots of things, she is super strong, able to jump multiple stories and lift heavy objects despite her rater lithe figure.

Backstory:
Born in the Western port city of Isijam. Orisa is actually the main successor for the Ngkazikiwe family, a rather famous trading family that has multiple ships and has done oh so many trade missions into the cities of Yuishi. Unlike the rest of her family members, almost all of them are interested in furthering the family business. Orisa felt that her calling was more on adventure. From an early age, Orisa trained extensively on martial arts, primarily using her body as a sort of natural leverage for takedowns and kicks. Soon enough, Orisa, at the ripe young age of 21, started asking her family for her to AT LEAST spend some time adventuring, perhaps a couple of years adventuring in the wide world might bring some experience and 'builds character'. Her family grudgingly accepted, and she started journeying towards Katherinsand, with a bag full of gold coins and nothing much but some spare clothes on her backpack.

In the journey though, she noticed that, outside of the people eyeing her with curiosity, she didn't have a weapon at all, this nearly cost her life when she encountered a bunch of bandits. She got by by the skin of her teeth, but, in addition to the encounter. Orisa realized that she needed some form of weapon as well. She was resting at a small town at the edge of Katherinsand when she saw it. That gigantic double bladed sword, asking around. She realized that the adventurer who did have that sword had retired, and are more than willing to hand it over to her. Smiling at the former adventurer, she grabbed the sword and immediately felt something strange. It's almost like she immediately know how to use the sword effectively, when she was about to ask the person. He vanished for no discernable reason. Now armed with a weird looking sword. Orisa has finally arrived in Katherinsand, looking for the prospect of adventure and making money.

The barbarian was born from Throd the massive, famous for slaying buffles bare handed, and Lily, who was banned from the clan for being far too nice. Finding the life in the village boring (only a couple of battles a month), he decided one day to go find some adventures, something that would allow him to hit someone over the head/

Since them, he goes from tavern to tavern, hoping to be hired in some company and to prove his worth.

So when we call the character in a casual matter, it would be something like...
  • "Hey, Barbarian!"
  • "Hello, Barbarian."
  • "What say you, Barbarian?"
  • "Could you give me a hand here, Barbarian?"
  • "Oh come on, Barbarian!"
:p
