UK Politics The Brexit thread (or All -not- quiet on the western front)

Worst case no deal Brexit is still less damaging financially than the US triggered financial crash of 08, so chill. That didn't destroy the country and neither will this.
Also thanks America.
Err... the financial crash did not utterly and completely break down the logistics of UK industries. A worst-case no-deal Brexit? It would. How are British factories supposed to work when their resources and products are blocked trying to cross the border one way or another while UK literally doesn't have the customs agents required, by at least two orders of magnitude?

Imagine for an instant an enforced hard border between England, London, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland: that's pretty much the level of damage your industry would face in the worst case scenario.

Why do people think the EU will punish the UK? It is just going to follow international law in regard to trade and regulations. >_>

It would be more Make An Example Of Them and then go "if you think of disagreeing look at what we did to britain!"

Why should we have to dirty to hands in such a way. It's simpler to have the entire planet take a look at what UK did to itself.

Don't blame other people, countries and organizations for your very own fuck-ups. Everything that happened is on your heads. It's not a big conspiracy to mess with Britannia, it's UK that decided to throw everything away on a tantrum.

I was thinking more the eu deciding to rub salt and lye in the wounds.

"That XXXXX is out there. It can't be bargained with, it can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity or remorse or fear and it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead. Can you stop it?"

Is XXXXX:

A) The Terminator.
B) Theresa May's political career.
C) Obi-Wan Kenobi.
D) The answer D.

Kamoulox !

And that's once more just shifting the blame away from yourself to another third party.

When this mess is utterly yours. From start to Finish.

From the 50 years of propaganda against the EU, your political class using it as a convenient scapegoat for their inconvenient policies, to the fact that the leading party used your continued participation into the block as a tool to unite their party and gain some newer priveledges that no other member state hass, to those last three years of utter incompetence.

This is all your fault. Not ours. Yours.

A British petition to revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU has gathered more than three million signatures in under two days.

"The government repeatedly claims exiting the EU is 'the will of the people'," reads the petition on the UK parliament website.

"We need to put a stop to this claim by proving the strength of public support now, for remaining in the EU.

"A People's Vote may not happen - so vote now."

Petitions with more than 100,000 signatures are automatically considered for a debate in parliament.

The petition was posted on Wednesday night by Margaret Anne Georgiadou. It gathered more than 100,000 signatures in its first two hours.

The petition was so successful that the page on the British parliament's website crashed for several hours on Thursday morning.

"Nearly 2,000 signatures are being completed every minute", the British parliament's Petition committee said on Twitter. "The rate of signing is the highest the site has ever had to deal with and we have had to make some changes to ensure the site remains stable and open for signatures and new petitions."

A map of the petition participants showed high numbers of Remainers in Edinburgh, London, Bristol, Cambridge and Brighton.

10. Oxford East: 4180 (Anneliese Dodds MP)

Many prominent personalities voiced their support for the petition (...)
A bit late but at least these people aren't blaming the EU...

So, either
Third vote has been shelved
So, either they leave without a deal the 29th, or they revoke Article 50 ? Since they have voted against a no-deal, logically they should now revoke Article 50, but… If it wasn't so sad it would be hilarious.

I expect on 29th may for the entire eu and British leadership to come on stage and yell "the aristocrats!"

Uh… and that mean ? Also, the UK would have been out since a month already then.

To understand the aristocrats watch a movie called the human centipede.
As soon as you send me a code to get it legally and free. Or you can just explain what you mean.
