It is just a regular day in May 2005 when a huge starship show up in Earth orbit. It is seen by too many nations and amateur astronomers to be covered up by the governments (should they have chosen to do so).
Surprisingly, when the ship starts transmitting, it becomes apparent that the individual sending a message has that one face that only a mother could love... it is the one and only Darth Vader with a Star Destroyer and a plenty of Imperial troops. They inform the Earthlings that our planet is a long-lost colony of the human race, and that they represent the Galactic Empire. They would like Earth to join in.
In fact, this is THE Empire of Star Wars, and it is just shorly past the Battle of Yavin, but before the Battle of Hoth. All the events that occurred in the movies would have actually happened, all the things that had been revealed in Episodes V and VI still hold true. Better yet, a small percentage of Earth's population does have the "Force potential" to be trained as Jedi or Sith.
