4 St. Louis police officers indicted, accused of beating an undercover colleague during Stockley protests
the indictment
Read the indictment against the St. Louis police officers (NOTE: LANGUAGE WARNING)
During a protest for the acquittal of the shooter responsible for ending the life
Shooting of Anthony Lamar Smith - Wikipedia
A man was allegedly the victim of police brutality, later the DA heard his complaint and was prompt in indicting the officers in question, trial soon to follow.

This is a thought provoking series of events I hope this is a turning point in our discourse of violence and the part in play in civil order

I mean holy shit those texts. Literally everyone involved with the hiring process and everyone ranked above these people need to be fired immediately for even letting trash like this into the profession to start with.

Problem, that would quite literally gut those police districts, causing the whole problem to worsen.

Then get some help from neighboring areas with better reputations or from the state, or even the feds while they rebuild. Bad cops are worse than fewer cops.

Problem with that is that most police departments have similar personnel shortage issues (last time I've checked)... and the US doesn't have anything like the national police forces in Europe either.
Literally just get rid of cops tbh
... and have anarchy in the streets? No thank you.

I dunno. Purging that police department, then having some state troopers (is that what you called them?) and a couple of FBI trainers for training the replacement police force sounds kinda interesting.

There was not anarchy before cops and there won't be anarchy (at least how you intend the term) after them
Nope, crime rates were pretty much (comparatively) sky high before (modern) cops became a thing, and that was during the days before the Industrial Revolution. Now, and with the current economic environment? Oh boy, you will want cops back no matter what after a week...

The biggest problem with that is money. Every single police department in the US have piss poor budgets because they have to be funded by property taxes and property taxes alone... and they have to share that tax money with school districts as well.

They didn't keep records, so I'm going to call you full of shit on this. It might be correct and might not, but there's literally no way of knowing that so you can't make the claim in good faith.

Again, I don't advocate having no cops, but I do think that a massive nationwide reform is needed, with people who have certain opinions and psychological tendencies permabanned from the profession.

Well, from what I can tell, not accurate or through records, thus what little data we have indicating it being on the higher end.

While I agree with your sentiment... it clashes with reality rather heavily. Especially in the US where the criminal element has been heavily romanticized or it has been integrated into the culture to the point that you'll need to erase the culture entirely to get rid of it...

...and stop this culture of 'I'm afraid for my life!' defense. Policemen are provided with means and training to de-escalate situations (or they should be, in a just world).

Criminals are both much more armed and much more willing to use guns on non-criminals in the US compared to other countries. Here, in comparison, a vast part of gun violence is between gangs, due to the small issue that we rarely capture hostage takers and spree shooters.

There is a problem with that, most countries aren't awash with guns (for example, State Troopers in Montana have to assume that every car has a gun somewhere due to the census data having ~3 guns per capita late last decade), doesn't have extensive intermingling between 'civilian' and 'criminal' cultures, or...

... and I've been ninja'd by the duck. If I remember right it's either almost 100% more likely or multiples of a hundred more likely... but that might be my memory being faulty on that. Hell, from what I've head there has been a spike on crime-on-cop incidents in the US, and the Sovereign Citizen problem is bad in many states in the US (particularly the South, but other places as well).

So, repeal the 2nd and ban anyone who has ever been part of a sovcit or racist group from even touching a gun. Which should be the case anyway.

... and that is impossible. Flat out impossible. Not only you'll never get the votes necessary (even the Dems of the more rural districts would ask you if you're flat out insane if you ask them to try for that), but the Rural needs those guns, because of deer, moose, bears, and all sorts of nasty critters that will make your day absolutely fucking miserable.
