You decided that in the end, the Dreg wasn't worth anything. After all, it had one arm, and one arm only. It wasn't even all that special. You had a single Legionary venture out and shoot it in the head, then drag t inside. A theory you had was confirmed when minutes later, the body seemed to just vanish, leaving the floor beneath it clean. Or, as clean as it had been before.

As for letting them roam around, a sudden fear of losing them came over you. You didn't know why, after all the menu it seemed wouldn't let them out unless they had a room, but you needed them at home. So, home they stayed. The Hob-Goblin got in some sort of praying position, arms splayed out and head titled back, it's red eye seeming to power down some. The Legionaries seemed to ignore it, setting up in the side room you had made.

Hmmm... you had several troops, but something in you wanted, more. But, there were other things than just troops. So, you made a compromise with yourself. You bought a Phalanx and it quickly formed, the grey ball turning into a figure with a thick shield. It looked up at you, banged the gun against their shield and then walked over to the others, resting their shield against the wall.

As your troops chilled out, you bought the rest of your compromise. Cover was provided, in the form of a large sheet of metal with the O symbol engraved into it. And for the grand finally, you summoned a door and placed it in the entrance. Suddenly, a little rug popped up in front of it, with the words Home Sweet Home.

It was, amusing.

You waited for something to happen for awhile, amusing yourself by watching the soldiers move around and eventually get in a head butting contest.

After what seemed like hours, you saw something approaching from outside your door. It was another of those four arms, and he had 4 of those flying things with him. 1 of them had bulbous looking things attached to it, and the others looked just like the one from before. "This is where Anik was last from his cordinates." His mandibles lacked together in something like annoyance. " If he and his squad are still alive, I can grab them. And if their drunk and broke their transponders, I swear to the great machine, I'm going to beat in his head." He fiddled with something on his wrist before turning nearly invisible, then tapping on the door. He pulled back and had the three normal flying ones in front of him, all three hanging back while the bulbous one waited right in front of your door.

You could just, leave it alone. Logically, you knew that there was nothing preventing you from just, not opening the door and waiting for them to leave. But the challenge was clear, the challenge that he could come in and beat you. You couldn't resist. Having your Phalanx take the lead, your other Cabal stood a little bit away and back behind them.

You opened up the door and the Hob-Goblin fired after a moment of charging. The bulbous thing exploded and the flying things shot out bolts of arc, slamming into the blackened metal of your phalanxs shield. They are quickly ripped to shreds by sufficient bullets courtesy of your Legionaries, but the four armed one seems to have fled. Not before taking a Hog-Goblin shot to the leg however, rendering his cloak thing useless. After all, the blood trail makes it easy to track him.

[] Pursue him.
[] leave him be.

You note that you have 30 Mana again, and the feeling is similar to having a full stomach. Not, that you know how that feels. How do you know what that feels like... Something to deal with later you supposed.

( If you want to buy anything, then feel free to write it in.)

You decide to leave him be. He should die from bleeding out, and if you ever decide to follow him, well, the blood trail is a good place to start.

After a day or two, you take another look over your options. While buying more troops would be nice, and you could probably get some sort of game started, such as tossing around rocks and such, you decide on something else. After all, numbers are great, but having troops that are weak aren't that great. So, lacking the ability to make a training montage, whatever that is, you decide to buy an upgrade.

First, the general upgrade for your cabal. They can feel themselves getting stronger, their movements a little quicker, and even though their helmets were on, you could tell that they saw a bit more clearly than before. It was, nice.

Next up was buying a respawn upgrade. Sure, they hadn't died yet, but you could never be too careful, and he would want them back as soon as possible if he could. When he did buy it, he felt a splash of energy over take them, and then vanish. Odd.

As you sat there once again, you decided to see, out of sheer boredom of course, if you could go to sleep. You had your troops in a relaxed, but alert position, and shut off your consciousness.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two great beings, both immense and so much larger than you. One spoke in soothing tones and sounded like gentle wind while the other ones voice was that of sharp words and broiling storms.

" We can't keep going like this."

" Why not? As you can see, I am the one winning." Things were cloudy for a time, and you were unable to make out their words. The next thing you could remember clearly was the feminine one sighing softly.

" It was a failure."

A pause. " If you do not want him, then I will gladly take him."

" No. I will not have you gain another knife, no matter how dull it is." It turned murky, but there was some yelling, and a large roar when you where pushed. You floated and you could see STARS. Oh, there so many, and they were so beautiful. But you were weak. You were weak, and dying, and oh so cold, and the warm stars were so far away...

Your vision closed for a little while, but when you next opened them there was a small creature, with glowing eyes and rough looking wings. There, was something else but you couldn't see right, why was that? It opened up its mouth and said

You woke up with the equivalent of a cold sweat, the troops looking on on concern. You waved away their questions and sat in an uncomfortable silence. What you had experienced was, to be frank, terrifying for reasons you couldn't fully remember, but there was also a strange need. A tugging that demanded you go back to sleep.

[] Go back to sleep.
[] Stay awake.

Next chapter will be an interlude, but the chapter after that will be business as usual.

[X] Go back to sleep.

Chapter 6: Do orbs dream of Wish Dragons?
You were tempted to just stay up and deal with whatever version of sleep deprivation you would gain, if even any, but no. You were not a coward, and you wouldn't be spooked by something as simple as a bad dream.

Forcing yourself back asleep, you felt something that felt vaguely like approval...
-----------------

A flash of light. The feeling of something warm pressing against you. Scraps of memories, of something you but not you being very annoyed at the... thing atop it.

"Relax oh Bauble mine, I can promise you that you aren't going anywhere." A hind leg tapped against one of the rocks keeping your orby body in place, a smug grin on the dragons face. "I took care in choosing only the finest of spots for us to lounge in.

"I am not a sunning stone for you to rest on."

"Oh is that so? Then please Bauble, tell me what you are. I would love for me to call you by the right name." Annoyance, pride, and a little bit of spite warred through you, all clamping down on you from answering the dragon.

"Hmmm, it must have been the wind I heard rushing by just now then. Now my most round of orbs, I am going to go back to napping."

An hour later you gave in, not content to merely sit in silence. "Akwan. My name is Akwan, and I do not know what my species would be called if I had one."

An eye cracked open and a small smile found its way onto the dragon's face. "Well then Akwan, a name given shall be a name returned. My name is Vantano, and I am of a race that many simply call Wish Dragon, but our true name is Ahamkara. Now, I was not lying earlier about wishing to sleep." With that, she readjusted herself and curled up. You wouldn't call her a friend, not yet, but knowing the name of the being who was sleeping atop you made it easier to call them an associate at least, rather than "person who is using me as a mattress."
-------------------------------------------------

You woke up much more softly this time, the feeling of something warm in the core of your orb radiating throughout your body. It was...nice.

Well someone slept well! Have a good nap boss?

"It was... peaceful. Now, has anything happened while I was asleep?"
Oh there was a couple of Fallen patrols that came close, but none of them actually came inside, even if that one Dreg was a bit too handsy for his own good. But also good news, you have 30 Mana once more. So, what you want to do with all that potential?

[] write in. You have 30 Mana and the day is just starting.
