Work in progress, about witches with a lesbian relationship.
"What?" Kay asks her friend, a blonde girl dressed in a perky goth style, combining a black skirt and clingy red-black top.
Kay was very surprised. She held her hands close to her, and took a step back.
"What's wrong? If you're really a friend, and since I've helped you grow bunches in your career as a 'witch' you'd only naturally pay me back, right? Just sign here, here and...." Kat pointed her long nail at the places on the contract.
Kay smoothed out her skirt. She was in Kat's favorite place, a cemetery where she smokes menthols and talks to her Mommy, which she sometimes does.
Kay signed each place on the contract. She looked at the ground. Kay bought time by pulling back up her tight fitting jacket, and applying some perfume, tho Kat had won.
"Aw. Don't be sad. You're nothing special, Kay. There are hundreds of witches here, you just found me, and my friend." Kat got closer. She spoke sweetly and touched Kay's shoulder.
Kay shook and nods convinced. She stands with her legs shaking, feeling nauseous, and waits.
"Like who's your friend?" She asks.
Her friend smiles a red lipstick smile and giggles. Kay hears whispering female voices.
The brown haired girl heard whispers from thousands of voices all at once. She didn't understand tho felt something. She could feel a presence inside her and then heard nothing.
"Remember. Meet me here everyday for training. We'll be working on something no witch has ever done, girlfriend...." Kat kisses Kay on her cheek and walks off, leaving Kay standing there feeling dizzy.
The girl wandered home, to the coven, who stayed at an abandoned school building. It was built hundreds of years ago.
She saw that they were talking in the hallways, class was coming up. Kay walked to her class in a hurry, looking at her sneakers.
The class was about famous witches and what their accomplishments were. The girl stood at the door and used some hand sanitizer, then started to paint her nails.
When it was time for class, Kay filed behind the other girls and went inside. The room had a chalkboard, there was one window, and desks. The teacher started talking about a witch who made love potions.
"This woman, Julianne Lockwood, created a drug that would cause physical addiction. Like when you girls get addicted to sugary drinks, right?" The woman laughed and some of the girls laugh too.
"Only problem is, eventually she couldn't make it anymore, and she died. The potion required a flower. Does anybody know what it is?" And silence filled the room, Kay wrote something in her notebook.
A black girl spoke up, raising her hand and being called on.
"The flower is the Teardrop Flower, right?" She sat back, when the teacher say she's correct.
Kay wrote notes while she daydreams about something. She hears the sound of girls crying. She hears Kat giggling. The crying continues, causing Kay to feel like she may pass out.
Kay falls sideways from her desk trying to get up, unconscious.
When she woke up, the nurse told her to go home, after the last class. She had been pass out that long?
In the hallways Kat handed her a note. It read:
Hey girlfriend~
Come to the bridge at 12, nobody's there~
Xoxo Kat
PS: hear you fainted are you okay?
The brunette girl was walking to the bridge, a place that passes into downtown, tho most people don't walk that way so late. Shivering a little, Kay pulls up her jacket, and checks her makeup in her hand mirror.
Kat is there singing something. Quietly. Kat smiles as her girlfriend walks close enough and motion for her to make herself comfortable. Kay stands nearby.
"What have you always felt like doing?" The blonde girl asks.
"Um. Don't know. Just, um, can make water and n-nothing e..." Kay reconsider talking as Kat continue.
"So what we're going to do, is help you get better. We just need two things, one: a resource for you to learn from, acquiring it. And two: if you get in danger, call out for me or our friend. Even you can do that, right baby doll?" Kat asks with a smile.
"Yes. Just... how do we get a book to learn from?" Kay holds herself.
"Steal it, like, right?" Kat clicked her tongue and pointed at Kay.
Kay felt confuse as a million small voices echo and come together into a sea of soft noise. She felt weak in her knees and lightheaded. She nodded.
"So we go to the part of town where the collectors hang out. You're gonna have to do something for me, okay?" Kat got closer.
"You're too innocent to be made the fall girl right? So while you distract them, I'll take the book." Kat toyed around with her girlfriend's bangs, looking at her eyes.
They walked to a part of town witches knew hoarders of knowledge were. These people sold it, keeping their things close, but displayed. Kat pulled her girlfriend and took her toward somebody.
This woman looked professional with a dress that had hearts on it, over a black background. She wore a dark blue jacket and occasionally adjusted her sunglasses, which Kay found off at night?
"Hey can we buy something from you, Miss?" Kat asks sweetly, going behind Kay.
The woman nods and the whispers come back. Kay walks around the display to a faraway book and points it out. While retrieving her totally trendy handbag, she drops several coins, and turns the other way.
While this woman secretly took her change, Kat walked quickly, taking the book. Then Kay says she feels a bit sick and excuses herself. Kat and Kay begin moving away as fast as they can go.
When they were back at Kat's favorite place, Kay walked over to a mostly empty space, and looked at the garden around her. Kat smiles and tosses her the book, which hits her in her face.
Kay thanks Kat as the book drops and she asks:
"Is that girl gonna be like, um... angry?" She picked up the book.
Kat shook her head, her earrings moving.
"Why would she? It's a hustle, just try to avoid her or pay her back later or something?" Kat looks at her fingers.
Kay asks if they wanna do something? Kat replies that It's time to learn how to practice a style of witchcraft no witch had tried.
"Is that true? What... are you talking about?" Kay tremble.
"My Mommy, a lovely and caring woman, was taken from me. And I cry at night wishing to feel her hugs and kisses. You know what that feels like, don't you little girl?" Kat begins petting Kay's hair, staying close.
"So I learned that using a little blood, and asking my friend, we can contact her. You wanna be a good girlfriend and help me out, right?" Kat didn't wait for a answer and, removing a shiny object from her little purse, cut Kay on her hand.
The brunette held her breath after a sharp inhale, dizzy. She brought up her hand and looked at it, then Kat, who was carving little marks with her knife.
"Okay, when I'm done, you ask our friend for help. You need to find a way to talk to my Mommy, through the veil of the afterlife, then I take over." Kat was drawing for a long time.
Kay tried in vain to stuff a tissue on her hand. She could feel her friend already peeking at the edges of her head.
Kat told her to stand at her Mommy's grave. Kay stood there looking away from the marker placed for this woman. She felt sad for Kat, imagining her cry. The voices in her head were whispering, a plea, a question, a million sounds she could not understand.
Kat suddenly stood up and walked back to her girlfriend and hugged her. Kissing her and thanking her once. Then she told her to reach out, making her sit down, then keeping a lookout.
Kay asks if she can talk to somebody, the voices giggle.
who are you who are you *giggle*?
we must find the lost girl and, bring her back. You're her... little thing
Kay didn't get why her friend cared about their relationship, her confusion making it laugh. Then it pulled her spirit out of her body, which killed her to Kat's point of view.
Kat teared up and cried a little. She smelled a familiar scent like flowers and something burning. She could smell that just before she died to do the same ritual.
Kay felt like she was unconscious for years. She felt like she was falling and twirling and then woke up in a shadowy garden. There were soft faeries like lights flitting across a nighttime landscape.
Is it like possible to talk to Kat's Mommy again?
yes, of course. Except... what if she doesn't want... to? *giggles*
Kay saw her friend walking closer like a shy little girl. She had a fishtail braid, which was purple. She wore a dress, and a mask, and as she came closer it was impossible to ignore that she sounded unnatural.
Kay shivers her entire body. The girl giggles and then is right next to her. She touches her hand and begins to guide her thru the garden, towards a river. The river was deep and wide, and the little girl began crying.
what's wrong? Kay asks, her mouth not moving
The little girl cries for a while longer and then walks to the edge of the river and jumps in. Kay feels terrified and jumps in after her. She felt the water pushing her and swam against it, calling on her magic to make herself able to breathe, tho it drained her.
All she could think about was helping this girl and when she touched her hand, the girl's mask fell off, as Kay took her back to the surface.
Except when she surfaced they were in the middle of a frozen forest. The trees had ice on them and there was snow on the ground. Kay took the girl back onto land and laid on the shore, keeping her legs and arms close, heavily shivering.
The little girl laid next to her and tried to hug her. She whispers in her ear and the brunette stands up, wringing out her top, water freezing on the ground. There was a woman in a coat at the center of the forest. She was cooking next to a fire.
Kay and her friend walk closer, the little girl walking around and around Kay.
h-hi hi?
The woman turns around and the teen girl is stunned by how beautiful she is. She has long blonde hair, longer than Kat's, and brown eyes. She wears some face makeup, and her nails are long and painted with a clear polish.
"You must be my girl's partner. What are you doing here?"
Kat appears on the scene. She comes up to Kay and hugs and kisses her once. Then she turns to her Mommy. She looks distant.
"Hi, you've heard about, this lovely girl Kay?" Kat got behind Kay.
Her Mommy looked unimpressed. She takes off her coat and puts it on a rock.
The little girl peeks out from even farther back, looking at nobody and everybody.
"Yeah, well, I talk to you and share feelings tho when are you bringing me back?" She put her hand on her hip.
Kat shivered and looks away, grabbing her arm and lowering her posture. She seems to be thinking.
"Me and Kay made a friend. She's here!" Kat turns sideways and points to the little girl.
"What's your name, girl friend?" Her Mommy tries not to scare her, tho looks suspicious.
You may call me... whatever you wanna... I don't have a name
the little girl moves her feet, waiting. She sees a bug on the ground and makes a surprised sound, moving away, not looking at anybody now
"Then I'm calling you... Rose. You look like a, 'Rose.'" Kat's Mommy said cheerfully.
Rose thanked her, then after a considerable silence:
Thank you ma'am. How may she call you?
"You're referring to yourself in third person... that's weird." Kat's Mommy frowned and sighed.
"My name is Jenni, thank you, I guess." Jenni bit off a piece of fingernail that broke, then went back to cooking.
How did she find ingredients? Kay wondered. She looked at her putting in cut up vegetables and then watching, them cook.
"I made this place a home. It is, since I was taken from life, by a killer." Jenni teared up. Her teardrop fell and a flower bloomed, with pink and green petals.
"Mommy, don't worry. I remember how you are strong. I know how to bring you back. Rose, can you help, please?" Kat sweetly and urgently requested, on tiptoes, showing some vulnerability.
Rose covered her mouth and laughed, then cried for a time, before peeking at Kat sideways.
of course. She has seen this story before lost girls reaching across distances. Um, Kitty and Kay, you may not like what we gotta do....
"I know what we have to do. We have to give up a part of ourselves to guide Mommy back, right?" Kat asked.
The little girl looked at the ground and then back at Kat. She didn't say or do anything.
"You were waiting to bring me back, Katherine?" Jenni sounded hurt.
Kat shook her head partially crying. She sniffled and regained her composure.
Kay was very confuse. She looked between the three girls. She undid the jaw clip securing her tightly wrapped bun, then redid it quickly. She blinked rapidly as tears came to her eyes too.
"Kat what are we doing?" Kay pleads. She walks closer to Kat and stops next to her, waiting, looking trouble by her pain.
Kat breaks up, her voice a bit higher pitch.
"We--We're j-just advancing... our sk-skills. Like... We have to help Mommy. " Kat looked into Kay's eyes, seeming very desperate.
So the girls all started discussing what they would give up.
"What?" Kay asks her friend, a blonde girl dressed in a perky goth style, combining a black skirt and clingy red-black top.
