How do you identify politically?

I'm in a weird spot where I'm not even sure where I would actually fall on a political compass because I'm pulled in just about every direction some some fair extremes. My ideal form of government is a partially socialist constitutional monarchy with a representative legislative branch and appointed judges (both on the federal and local level, no elections for the judicial system ever) with moderate to high taxes , welfare, and a partially regulated economy (mainly for worker's rights and breaking up monopolies). But leaning in a more extreme angle, total transparency on literally every level where all money and assets must be publicly declared on an accessible database that can be checked by any individual regardless of history (even felons), for the only way to stop financial corruption of the state and corporations is if everything is dragged into the daylight and made visible. And of course, extremely potent IRS-style crackdowns for anybody who tries to hide assets of any sort.

Wow, how would you feel about income and inheritance caps?

I prefer to see myself as not restricted or bound by the labels of politics and such, and instead define oddity from the norm in the perspective that I have come to shape for myself over the years.

Funnily enough, there was a label for such a person. I think it was "Ubermensch".

Unfortunately, that label I too do not refer myself as, as it would be conforming once more to the will of another man's ideals, and defining myself by their believes.

Perfectly fine so long as everything is openly declared on public record. Can't bribe politicians if not only the state knows about any financial gain of any individual, but the news corporations and the private voter can look up your entire financial history and check out who you support. Getting rid of inheritance would be dumb as it would remove the compulsion to acquire wealth and engage in dynasty building, although physical assets such as corporations might be trust busted if they grow too encompassing. IE, Billy Bob can keep his billion dollar trust fund, but if daddy owned 70% of the telecom market, he's only getting 45%.

I said Inheritance Cap, not getting rid of inheritance entirely. I.e. you can only inherit so much before you're cut off. Huey Long had plans for an inheritance cap of (1930s USD mind you) 5 million in part of his 'share our wealth' programs.

I like to annoy people by using holocaust denier "logic" as proof that the crusades never happened and is just an Islamic ploy for sympathy.

Well I dislike how holocaust revisionism overshadows the very real question of how thousands of Germans could have been burned in Dresden if it takes 2 hrs to burn a human body then the Dresden bombing should have taken years to reach that kill count.

Most died from suffocation and being unable to escape wooden houses, that or being crushed by collapsing superstructures.

For all that Dresden is used as a "But teh allies were jest as bad", it was a legitimately horrifying event. Personally I think it overshadows the horrors the Germans inflicted on the eastern front too much. Dresden is nothing compared to that.

Well explain this: If it takes 2 hours to burn a body and 50,000 people 'died' in dresden, then it would have taken 11 years to burn all the bodies.

Eh. I'd be careful with any cap on wealth itself as that does serve to de-incentivize the acquirement of wealth by individuals trying to benefit their circle of family/friends. Wealth itself isn't a problem either, the issue is when the wealth isn't spread around by its possessor via consumption and/or their ladder to success is uprooted. Personally I'm more in favor of just higher taxes on the wealthy, not actually limiting the amount of wealth that can be acquired (well, beyond monopoly).

Wyzilla, sadly we're seeing the beginnings of a world where humans may not apply is a certainty, not an 'if'. The vast majority of the rich are the mythological dragons who want to have their immense hordes, and the only way we'll be able to survive in the coming decades is to essentially take most of that income and inheritance away to fund the systems necessary.

If we don't? Well, do the words 'October Revolution' have any meaning to you?

This isn't how physics works.

It's not nearly that bad. Billionaires are like any people and for every Koch Bros you have Bill Gates, Freeny's, and Buffets. Establishing laws based on the actions of individuals within a collective group are discriminatory and inhumane. Full Communism is also a very dangerous road to embark on that has typically ended in catastrophic death and totalitarianism.

Dresden's as real as Finland
THE HWAN ENPIRE WILL RISE AGAIN.

As the imperialist baron has just said. Deaths from bombing raids aren't just from burning. Suffocation and falling debris claim lives as well.

Yes, I do believe that the bombing of Dresden was horrific and that the German citizens of Dresdin suffered but it isn't an excuse to say "teh Natzees did nuttin wrong!".

Actually, from what I've heard for every Bill Gates, there are ten Koch Bros... or so I've heard.

Also, you are forgetting that the only way to view humanity is through the lens of Hobbes and Locke, and thus the only way to ensure civilization is to put hefty restrictions in general while setting up things like an electronic omnipresent surveillance state. Give humans an inch, they'll take you for several bloody miles. Our technological context has started to upend many things taken as fact in yesteryear, and that includes things like jobs.

So what is capitalism for the children in the third world who either starve or die in drought, or are forced to watch their trade unionists parents get chopped to death by a corporate death squad? There is a reason chapo trap house is getting more and more popular. Soon people may very well want to guillotine the rich.

Welcome to Earth? Exploitation of other nations and populations will happen under any system because the makers of said system being implemented by humans. Also the Earth is actually improving, the third world is no longer wallowing in so much poverty as the majority of humanity is now middle-class for the first time in history. The main concern should be simple trust busting to prevent stagnation and ensure a truly free market (as regulation is necessary for such to exist, sorry ANCAPs), not diving into Communism which is a dark pit that has claimed millions of lives and devoured multiple nations and one superpower. Along with being highly susceptible to full totalitarianism, chief examples being Stalin and Mao.

I'd much rather bridge the weakness of the democratic president and the strength of the autocrat with a constitutional monarch which sits long enough to develop consistent long-term foreign policy without the bipolar-ness of the US political system which flips around as presidents change. Without totally sacrificing the people's ability to counter the state via a counterbalanced legislative body.

I was reffering to the implication that each body burns one after the other as opposed to simultaneously when exposed to fire. For that matter 2 hours is vaariable depending upon heat of fire.
There are values, you multiply them to get the result. That's how physics work, his argument is flawless.

Those trade unionists who were raped by dogs for not worshipping the mammon of the free market (as well as the 20 million people killed every year under capitalism) appreciate such sentiments. And I guess the indigenous peoples in Brazil who will get slaughtered under bolsonaro will totally appreciate how a few numbers on a spreadsheet justify their slaughter and the destruction of the environment.

@TankTreads has a friend called that.

Nein, physics is how an event occurs in the actual world and our explanations for why it does so. Their argument would only apply if Dresden was down to 1 smelter to toss corpses into instead of being firebombed. So it probably didnt happen the way they indicate.
