Growing Horizons: Inner Sphere - Quest

Oh thank fuck, I don't think I could handle having to deal with the Cylon fuckshittery and the Angels.

Would it be possible to pursue something like the Nova CEWS to assist in the Three Systems Combined Arms doctrine?
The what now?

@Warringer never booked marked the fleet composition. Had to hunt it down. That might be useful and that map below it is rather useful for our needs as well.

Looking at division the standard is a good generalist though wonder what the make up of the cavalry recon looks like because those do look like separate roles and do wonder what a more infantry heavy force would look like. Standard is good at assault and defense but putting lots and lots of boots on the ground for occupations and city/fortress fighting? you might switch out a brigade or two armor for infantry and keep the third brigade as is? A aviation heavy brigade might simply switch out two armor brigades for two aviation..

If we are taking the fight to the hegemony eventually it will get very ugly and very dirty fast. The Terran Hegemony prized its heavy layered fortification and its people far as they can remember in living memory has been indoctrinated in a way that make the Imperium of man proud. Unless we are willing to commit to permanent blockades or saturation nuking we are going to have to grind in and hold. I am thinking a minimum of 50 divisions for the first wave and expect to lose most of them in forced landings under heavy fire or suicide nuking or shear combat attrition. We will probable need a dedicated craft capable of close orbital ortillary support even as it trades fire with entrenched and hidden surface to space weapons. Even if we can take the surface will face decades of guerilla warfare from hold outs and people who will never stop considering us the enemy but their grand kids might.

We will need boring machines, Blade. Something like this but militarized:

These guys had 300 years of free time to make their worlds floating spherical fortresses masquerading as planets.

They are probably as Planet Glassing proof as it can get with their tech level.

Boring machines that can launch from orbit dig at least a half mile or more then detonate as a megaton grade warhead. In fact should see about making that a actual project. The thing is the first hegemony's defenses worked the designers just could not envision them being seized by traitors and the sldf having to dig their own defenses out instead of being the defenders and even still they did their job making invasion so costly only the insane bulk of the SLDF could do it and not die trying. They just got bleed white. If the Hegemony has similar level defenses and there is no reason to think they would not have at least as good or better outright invasion might not be that feasible unless we are willing to bleed. Glassing proof may not be that far off. If they built it from the start expecting total war those will be fortress worlds to make Cadia nod with respect.

Too bad we don't have either the life-eater virus or the methods of throwing a planet into either the local star or the warp
Given the plague even mention making something like that will have races among us terminally pissed at you. The others could happen with enough research and shenanigans. Our limit is what Warringer allows for his game and there are all sorts of tricks we might be able to pull of with hyperspace if we try. What would a HPG megastructure powered by a sun do to a planet? Though honestly accelerating a few large rocks into the planet would be easier and more efficient.

I only mentioned the life eater virus because how effective it was at Istvaan III, we know better than to play with bioweapons, Petan would probably have some choice words if that wasn't the case

Edit:I know KKVs would be more efficent but nothing says FUCK YOU like throwing planets around like a baseball

Again, I hate to play devil's advocate for the Terran Hegemony, but is it possible they're actually fighting the Evil Space Hamsters at this time?
...
Or is it possible that they are secretly being controlled by the Evil Hamsters at this time, even if just the leaders?

@Blade4? What if Amaris on Immortality Drugs is controlling them?! Holy shit balls!

Them fighting the hamsters would explain why they have not simple rolled the IS openly by now or the half assing of the fight with Algereon. And no Durabys unless Amaris left a very convincing clone Kerensky killed him. Its possible given what we see them doing now but i can find any rational reason why they would let Amaris destroy the old Hegemony and throw the Is into centuries of self destructive war when there are far greater threats about.

More like that Amaris completely subverted the Hegemony back in the 28th century. Perhaps with the help of the Hamsters.

If that happened would assume more cyber bio horrors running about or Hamsters would show themselves. If Amris won he would not have stayed on Terra and died and this hegemony would not be ruled by a Cameron. Would be called Amaris Empire as well.

No Amaris in the Hegemony.

No bioweapons, at all. Because everyone would go and support Petan with the frank exchange of views...

If not holding you down for Petan or at least adding salvos...

Ok so confirmation that Amaris is dead so they just add to the fun because that means the Hegemony and Camerons did get blind sided by Amaris. Probable even more hated by this Hegemony than even the clans and IS. Richard was a mess because of various factors but were others of the family to busy with the war without to see the threat within till they were being lined up to be shot? Would explain why his family did not do a better job raising him themselves.

Thing is Kerensky was the one tasked as Richards Guardian and foster father by the 5 house lords of the star league.
So looking of parental fuckups he's your man.

The house lords gave him Richard because they knew he was to busy as the head of the SLDF to properly raise him. They refused to let him retire to do so. How he found time to marry and sire two kids i have no idea when canonically he spent most of his life on board ship rushing from hot spot to hotspot. He has literally been to near two thousand worlds. Though real question is why did the other Camerons not tell the lords to piss of and raise their kin properly?

Yeah that was the biggest ass pull of Battletech The Guy was made the ruling Regent of the Star League and was Commander in chief of it's armed forces.
Why in the Hell was he out and about waging war on the front lines in the first place?
It's like Delegation was anathema and Kerensky was the only commander they had.
As CinC Kerensky position would have been administrative and he Should have done that from Terra FTL coms were on Star league warships after all.
Or was that a later retcon limiting it to the Sneaky breaky branch of it's military?

Kerensky never made that much sense anyway. He was supposed to be very competent and loved but his highest post before the head of the sldf was a regimental commander and was not even it that long. In fact he was barely in any of his officer postings long enough enough to get any kind of experience. He has all the hallmarks of a Steiner social general. Made only odder and worse by the actions of the other lords somehow naming him as regent when he was already stupid busy as the SLDF head and raising Richard. How when the Camerons should have named a regent from their own and had a one of their own families raise him and his sister. Probable were with Kerensky supposdly in over all control?
