He is right though, "Socialists" is a general term to describe most of the left. "Liberals" as a general rule are on the centre right, if they're on the left they become social democrats, if they then become left economically its "democratic socialists". If you were to describe "communists" as the far left, you may be slightly closer to being correct but just as with "conservatives" its far too broad a term to properly place (The difference between say, Australian and American conservatives)That isn't how the political spectrum works.
No, what I'm saying is that I intended for my post to say:So your claim is now that Centrists are Leftists?
Which is what it now says, since I've edited it to make it more clear. Is that not what you did earlier this same day or last night? My point is that your claim that all liberals are "centrists" is factually wrong.
Moron.Meanwhile, at the Legion of Incompetence
(Passed 30 to 2)
There are 2 kinds of liberal.
Social Liberal and Classical Liberal. This is what the left/right political spectrum looks like:
Socialists/Communists/Other Failed System that people say isn't real socialism, Progressives/Social Democrats, Social Liberal | Centrists | Classical Liberal, Conservatives, Theocrasy and similar failed purity driven ideology.
It is, however, where someone that doesn't fit on either side. If you want a free market but also want single payer or state run utilities or something you certainly aren't on the right... but you also aren't on the left...... Nein zat iss not how ziss works at all.
Centrism iss not an ideology.
Nein, zat vould make you a Social Democrat, what you just descibed. It's what the European left as a whole and apart of the democratic party (bernie and his ilk) are.It is, however, where someone that doesn't fit on either side. That's why I called it a spectrum, not a list of ideologies(social dem isn't an ideology either).

Centrism means you are in some perfect middle, which does not exist since no one can define what the ends are.
Right and left are economy, progressive and reactionary are social policies. Stalinists are social reactionary (ish) and economic left (very), while "liberals" are economic right and socially progressive (ish).
What you are theoretically describing would make the person a light social democrat.
Zat is still not centrist. It can be social democrat or third way liberal or whatever, but it is not magical centrism because that describes exactly nothing. Centre-right, might be a description for the variety of ideologies which are socially conservative but not to a republican extent, while centre left is a term covers social democrats and their ilk, but "centrist", means nothing.
Spectrum. See that, how green, yellow, and some red is in the center? It's not an exact center.
