US Politics American 2020 Presidential Primary

If we of all people can get nukes, it means being excitable isn't an obstacle.

The last time you guys rioted with the express purpose of killing 'the other' was, what, late 1790s?

Ours was 1969 and even to this day there are people who would like a second go on both sides. Indonesia's was in the 90s and some of their generals have experience in genocide, the Phillipines is in the middle of an insurrection, on and off, Thailand's military indulges in toppling the civilian government at least once a decade, Cambodia still have living memories of a purging and it's Prime Minister is playing at Dictatorship 2.0, Myanmar just got out of a military junta and Singapore kept calm by being harsh on its own people and aiming them at us. I think Laos is keeping it's borders woth the Thais at a low burn. Same with Vietnam and China.

Not exactly the people I'd like to see playing with nukes.

So the alt-right like Andrew Yang

...are they trying to cleverly tarnish his rep, because I'm really trying to work out why they'd support an Asian Progressive.

He's an outsider? I mean sure yeh, but there's a bit of a difference between a businessman who does start ups in poorer areas to help create jobs and Donald who just blames the Mexicans and screws people over.

They expect him to act as a spoiler to help Trump win. They LOVE 3rd party runs.

I might be supporting Andrew Yang this election. Like the guy, like his politics and think he'll smash Trump by targeting his base with progressive policies.

He needs to appeal to the disenfranchised, embittered working class like trump did.

What are the details behind his 'social credit score' policy? Not too familiar with him

Looked on his site and I can't find details.

All I'm getting is right wing sources, where did he say this?

Note that the Chinese system applies to businesses and people. I'd be 100% for applying it to businesses, but not people.

Black Mirror shows how you don't need to be China to have a Social Credit Policy, which in that case was Social Media run.

I mean... it IS fiction... but maybe not for long...

Hmmm... who would have thought that... little Biden milking Ukrainian gas business? Hm... how surprising :D
Joe Biden's 2020 Ukrainian nightmare: A closed probe is revived | TheHill
Two years after leaving office, Joe Biden couldn't resist the temptation last year to brag to an audience of foreign policy specialists about the time as vice president that he strong-armed Ukraine into firing its top prosecutor.
...
But Ukrainian officials tell me there was one crucial piece of information that Biden must have known but didn't mention to his audience: The prosecutor he got fired was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into the natural gas firm Burisma Holdings that employed Biden's younger son, Hunter, as a board member.

U.S. banking records show Hunter Biden's American-based firm, Rosemont Seneca Partners LLC, received regular transfers into one of its accounts — usually more than $166,000 a month — from Burisma from spring 2014 through fall 2015, during a period when Vice President Biden was the main U.S. official dealing with Ukraine and its tense relations with Russia.

Overall, hardly that unusual or out of place.
But given that 2020 needs to stand up against Trump's corruptions, and avoid any and all whataboutism, or as much as possible (since Republicans are masters of it) pretty much should disqualify the guy.

Not that this should have been needed to disqualify him. Biden's got no business running.
