Agent of F.A.T.E

Chapter 1: Start

Fallen_Baroness

House of Wolves stands strong
Author
You are an agent of F.A.T.E, a universal organization that assigns realities their hero's and villain's, whether it be big or small. As a newly trained agent, you have been assigned a small medieval world with some magic and a few races starting to just form empires. Plenty of potential for an inspired person, creature, thing! Yes, thing such as yourself! Do well and you might get assigned more planets, with more complexities! Or you might start another war between the people you manipulated and F.A.T.E. Who knows!

[ Warning, side effects might include prophecies, chosen ones, torrid forbidden romances, a trope farm, and a system that mocks you for pairing a dragon and a princess together you uninspired hack!)

Alright, so this will work is you will start as a lowly starting agent of F.A.T.E, and as such will be given a starting planet. You will shape it, as well as create monsters, villains and general nare do wells, as well as the hero's who sally out to vanquish them. Tropes will be very much used and linked to. You'll have to start off small, but over time you can create a truly grand tale of hero's and overlords. Just, try not to screw it up and open up a portal to the Nth dimension. We don't need any more of those tentacle beasts ripping open reality.

You hummed as you floated above the planet, looking down at the green rock in space. There was so much potential there, with the beautiful blues and vibrant greens, the dashing yellows and whites of sand and ice and snow. Plus, nothing had really grown yet. Well, no sentients.

There were some promising looking creatures in various areas, such as the rats in the mountains. What looked like some kind of ants and strange beasts in the plains, with monkeys in the forest and lizards in the jungles and swamps.

Now, since you were just starting out you couldn't do much at first, but based off your memories of lessons, that would change the more life and stories you introduced.

So, what were you going to do first? Magic was almost a necessity, but what form would it take? ( Choose 2)

[] A substance that creatures could mine, would look like differently colored crystals. No innate magic, but the only limit to the magic you can cast is the type of rock you have and how much you have. Can lead to interesting affects in creatures who consume the substance.

[] A sort of energy well inside each creature, one that could be increased with effort and time. Each creature will have magic, but quite a number will be too weak to cast spells.

[] Runes are what grant power. Words and symbols of power that can be written on surfaces of objects, giving them certain properties related to that word or symbol.

[]Faith would slowly create gods, gods that would in turn give their followers power. You would have the ability to regulate the gods, to make sure they wouldn't over throw you. At least, not easily.

[] Write in.

Now that your magic system was in place, you had to decide on something for yourself. First, what you looked like. What form would you take for this world?

[] The perfect version of whatever race you were talking with at the time. If talking to two different races, you look different to both of them.

[] A orb of light. Heavenly choir may or may not be included.

[] A creeping mist of darkness. May include whispers.

[] Write in.

Now that you had settled on your form, there was one more thing you had to focus on. Where were you going to live?

[] Create a small sub pocket for you to live in.

[] On the moon!

[]Make something on the planet below
-[] If so, where and what? May be subject to dice rolling

[] Move around from place to place.

[] Live in a building your creations make.

[] Write in

This... sounds very fun. I'm in.

Magic.

[X] A sort of energy well inside each creature, one that could be increased with effort and time. Each creature will have magic, but quite a number will be too weak to cast spells.

[X]Faith would slowly create gods, gods that would in turn give their followers power. You would have the ability to regulate the gods, to make sure they wouldn't over throw you. At least, not easily.

So, everyone has some innate magic, but if one trains enough, or have faith in a god or goddess sufficiently enough, they would eventually be able to cast spells.

My form.

[X] Perhaps the one below? Also, is my original species a human?

This is a no brainer, with a small sub dimension, we can style our house anyway we want, fill it up with anything we want as well.

Ah, wondering when you'd respond.

Anyway, is my original species a human? I kinda want to use a human body for the creator.

Your original body was just a kinda blob of energy that you used to change into whatever you wanted. You can use a human body if you want.

Alright, you had a plan ready. You made a field of energy and spread it across the surface, reaching into the core of every living thing and planting a seed of magic into them. It wouldn't take for all, but a good chunk would be able to cast spells and such.

Next, for the Gods. You pulled on a different sort of energy and spread it across the planet, the field reaching into the mind of each creature that was alive and letting their thoughts coalesce. There was nothing but hunger and a need to mate for now, but as they grew and became higher thinking beings gods would be born here, and then you could pass any paper work off to them! Haha!

Now, since you had the magic for the realm all sorted out, you needed to settle on a form and make yourself a place to live. Reaching into the space around you, you pushed and created a small pocket universe. You had no real desire to share it with the other gods, and made it big enough for you, a medium size house and for any potential projects later on.

As for a form, that one was a bit of a pickle. You could go for something strong looking, or something scary. But, there was a memory that stood out to you from your training at F.A.T.E academy. It was of one of your teachers in the form of a human women, smile on her face. No, if you were going to be a creator, and nurture your creation, you knew what you had to be.

You slowly took the form of a human woman with pale skin and even paler hair, actually colored white. A black dress grew around you and served as a near second skin, a blindfold appearing around your eyes. You had black stockings and high heels, and a thin blade growing out of the ground. You picked it up and gave it a lazy swipe across the air, satisfied with its edge.

Now, all you had to do was wait.

A hundred years passed, and you could feel a few races stirring in the world below. Some lizard folk had come into being in the swamps, and there was something fish based in the ocean. You could feel their respective gods forming here in the realm, but nothing concrete yet. Still, if you felt like bending the rules, you could technically go visit them, as long as you made sure not to mess with things too much. There was a small group of rats that were scurrying around, but they were kind of stupid and kept eating each other, so you weren't concerned about them.

[] Visit the sea creatures.

[] Visit the lizard men.

[] Don't do either.

[] Split your attention and visit both.

[] Poke at the rats.

[X] Visit the lizard men.

I think the Lizard Men might be the most interesting out of the bunch. Interested to see their development, what do you think?

Lizards and fish
[X] Split your attention and visit both.

You hummed as you looked down at them both. Oh what the hell, you wanted to see both.

Splitting in two, one version of yourself went down and saw the lizards.

You floated down to the little village of lizard people, making sure to hide among the swamp trees and dimming your light. There were several small squat buildings, some of of them situated on stilts and others floating on the water. They seemed to be made of chopped down tree logs and mud, a large building that the others seemed to be centered around.

They were a mixture of dark browns and greens, their eyes a dull yellow. A group of them were armed with spears made of wood and others heavy looking clubs, though there some that were being dragged back onto the shore, along with some big animal being carried on the back of two of the lizards.

Manipulating light to make yourself invisible, you bobbed and weaved amongst the lizards, listening to their harsh voices. They seemed to mostly talk about a strange fish and about some celebration they were planning.

But, there was also some not so peaceful rumors. None were definite, but fear was certainly in their undertones.

[] A terrible beast has been rumored to be hiding in the depths of the swamp, wiping out a hunting party that went out after it. The people need a hero to go and hunt it down. The hero will be a warrior.

[] A rival group made from outcasts has sprung up, and is threatening the security of the tribe. They need a leader to either negotiate or strike down these foes. The hero will be a leader, their attitude based on how you deal with them.

[] A terrible sickness has afflicted some of the younglings, and none of the healers know what to do. A cure needs to be found, and quickly. Their hero will be a healer.

[] Actually, there are no troubles right now, but life has been quite dull. The celebration is promising, but it could be made better. First hero will be a party animal, like a jester.

And as for the fish your other half was visiting, they were a mixture of blues and greys, fins on their arms and heads and bright orange eyes.

They had a mix of spears and these claw weapons, held together by seaweed and made from bone and stone.

There seemed to be an argument between one of them wearing seaweed robes and a coral ring, and another one with a trident and sea turtle armor.

There was also a large statue that the buildings were based around, along with a fancy looking palace. There seemed to also be a large hole not too far from the city, a wire net covering the top and with armor around it.

You went among what seemed like the market and thing around, making yourself invisible to them. You could hear some excitment about exploring some new cave system with lots of rare sea plants and such. But there was also a bit of fear.

[] There's a sea serpent that's been attacking the city. It's been driven off, but not without some casualties each time, and people are getting worried. Can lead to a martial hero or god.

[] The church of Dagon has been in conflict with the king lately over just how much power they are allowed to have. Some are afraid it could spill into all out war if peace is not arranged. Leads to leader god or hero.

[] There has been a sickness of the blood, transforming some into some beasts but killing most. It has only taken those on the outside of the city so far, but there is fear of what could happen if it comes inside. Leads to healer hero or god.

Your world
Your world has an energy field made made from the thoughts of every living being and creates gods. There is also another energy field that gives each creature a well of magical energy.

Your form is that of a pale, white haired human woman.

Your home is a small sub dimension.

Species: Lizard folk, fish people, rat people, humans, goblins.

The godess of the rat kin, she has taken on the form that you did when visiting Lord Kingdok. She cares greatly for her people and takes special delight in the title of "the mother". Currently lives in her mountain stronghold and is quite fine with where they are. Has been thinking of speaking with the humans, but is uncertain of how they would react.
God of the lizardmen tribe, he has taken the visage of the outcast chiefs. He is a vicious god, but considers himself fair. He seeks to expand his peoples reach beyond the swamp and into the plains that border them
Taking the form of the knight who slew the serpent king, she is a ferocious god. Silent except when giving orders she guards the tribes of fishmen as they wander through their grandparents created to stave off the curse of the Serpent King. Each year she goes to a different tribe, leaving behind trained warriors to guard those she is not at.
Their true name remains a mystery for now, but they are the god thing of death. Their form resembles a vulture with the form of several different beasts sewn into it. The tail of a snake, the sharp claws of a mountain lion, the teeth of a raptor. They hold the spirits of all who have died.

A son outcast by his father, he rallied those who were also sent out and exiled. You granted he and his people salvation, thought they know naught of it. You made him strong, healthy, and replaced his hand which had missing fingers with a hand which held three mighty claws meant to rip and rend.
Her name was Aziah, though only the seahorse herder named Mithra who she took as a companion knew this in the end. To the others, she was simply Noble Knight. The daughter of a guard who was slain by a serpent harrasing her home, she went on to slay the Serpent King Nagendra and his minions, though was unable to prevent him from laying down a curse which haunts her people to this day.
A rat who met you after his two brothers were killed and eaten by King Shadows magic. You gave him the power of light and he destroyed Shadow, where he then led his people to become less cannibals and more honorable, kind, and noble. They still eat dead bodies though. A note that, even though he desired with all of his heart to speak to the humans and see how they seasoned their meat, he gave up on his dream and focused on his people, even if he would sneak away to his hidden spot and watch the human town grow, calling for you to speak once more.

Alright, I think these might be the best choices to have. Let's see how their society handles two different types of heroes emerging.

There have been rumors, and even reports of a tribe made from those they deemed too weak or too strange to fit in with them, and threw into the swamp. You could verify this was true, but when you did actually find them they were too weak to actually do much. They were weak with sores and thin muscles, rumbling with hunger. Even their leader was weak, with a missing eye and a couple fingers.
This, this would not do.

You made yourself invisible and popped each of them on the head, knocking them out for a moment. Fake memories of finding food and becoming strong and healthy flooded their minds as a way to explain away their sudden muscle mass and lack of disease, their stomachs full of food and a large, if not orderly, pile of food sitting in a large sack in the middle of town. You even replaced the leaders claw that was missing fingers with three large claws, perfect for ripping through flesh.

When they woke up, they would have no memory of your interference, and that suited you just fine. It just meant that when your other tribe came, they would have to decide if they wanted to try and take on a tribe full of fit warriors who had a grudge against them, rather than just mow down a group of defenseless weaklings.

Spies were dispatched, reports were made. With their sudden strength they had started making a den under the water, a sort of cave to live under. If they wanted to attack, they would need to do it now while they still were not the best organized.

[] Attack: Leads to a Warrior leader/god.

[] Talk it out: Leads to a diplomat leader/god.

As for the fish people, you saw there was a young woman who lived on the outskirts, the ones most venerable to attack from the serpent. Her father had been one of the outlying guards here, and had died in the last attack, leaving her his pension, his armor, and his trident and weighted net. She had plans to don them the next day and go out to either avenge her fathers death, or die trying. You were all too happy to make sure it would be satisfying.

You took a quick look around and found the serpent. It was a good start, but really the only reason it hadn't been killed yet was because of how fast it was. Let's see... add a little bit of corrosive breathe, make it able to burrow into the ground, oh yeah.

When she actually found it, after several days of looking around the underwater mountain range they thought made up its home, she was surprised to see it was stronger than she remembered. She put it off to it not needing all its abilities when attacking, or growing stronger after feasting on her people. She put it out of her mind and focused on killing the damn thing.

It was not a easy battle, with acid splashing against her armor and barely avoiding getting it on her skin. She inflicted wound after wound, but it just. refused. to die! She started to glow, leaving lasting damage as she boiled the water around them, light lashing into its skin and ripping out chunks of flesh.

When it was done, she sat done, covered in multiple wounds and her blood turning the water around her red. It took quite a bit of effort, but she managed to stay sitting up enough so that when the first party arrived, following the death shrieks of the serpent, she was able to flash them a smile and a moderately heroic look before collapsing, succumbing to her injuries.

She woke up in a hospital later, to be adored by the masses and thanked by all those who survived. But no matter how much she accepted it, no matter the thanks she received, she couldn't help but feel a cold ball of anger still in her gut. (Trait: Wrathful.)
